Help
From Monday August 12th, the candidate experience of the Occupational Personality Questionnaire (OPQ32r) is changing. The User Experience of the assessment has been modernised and improved, leading to higher levels of user satisfaction, and reduced completion times. The updated OPQ can be taken on any device type.
What is changing?
The main change is to the look and feel of the assessment, and the way the candidate is asked to respond. The user interface is more intuitive, and easier to navigate which helps to reduce completion time. The items of the assessment are identical, and the way the OPQ scores will not change. We have trialled the new version extensively, and have shown that candidate outcomes are exactly the same for the new version.
When will the transition happen?
The new version of OPQ was released as part of the TalentCentral monthly maintenance release the weekend of 10th August. In this first release, the new version has been automatically been added to TalentCentral systems that do not include custom colour and logo branding in the candidate experience. There is no action required to start using the new version of the OPQ.Â
If your TalentCentral site does include custom colour and logo branding, it will be moved at a later date, and we will let you know about the transition before it happens.
Does anything change to the reports and norms linked to the OPQ32r?
No, all standard and custom OPQ reports and norms that are currently available for the OPQ32r remain enabled for the new version.Â
What happens to candidates who started the OPQ before the release and return to finish after the release?
The functionality to log out and back in at a later point in time to finish the assessment remains in place. Candidates who log out before the lay-out change and log back in after the lay-out change will continue to use the old lay-out. Any candidate starting their assessment for the first time after the layout change will see the new look and feel.Â
Please be aware – if a candidate starts their assessment before the layout change, and their assessment is then reset after the layout change, when they log back in to TalentCentral, they will re-start their assessment with the new version of the OPQ.
Is Response Reuse functionality enabled?
The response Reuse (RR) functionality will continue to work for the candidates as it works today.
Will Assessment Profiles work?
Yes, AP (Assessment profiles) will continue to work with the OPQ32r.
Will existing projects and clone project/drafts continue to work?
Yes, existing projects/clone project/draft projects will continue to work as is.
Where can I learn more?
Attached to this article, you’ll find two documents:
1)Â Â Â A frequently asked questions document which provides some additional detail about what you can expect from the new version of the OPQ
2)Â Â Â A supplement to the OPQ Technical Manual which details the design and trialling process undertaken to support the launch of the new version of the OPQ. This includes data that demonstrates the equivalence of the new version and the version it replaces, and details the time savings your candidates can expect to experience as a result of the update.Â
