Question:
The Redesigned MQ: What do I need to know?
Answer:
From Friday February 14th 2020, the candidate experience of the Motivation Questionnaire (MQ) is changing. The User Experience of the assessment has been refreshed and improved, leading to higher levels of user satisfaction, and an expected reduction in completion times. Â The updated MQ can be taken on any device type, including mobile.
In addition to the redesigned candidate experience, a new set of general population norms is also being released. Â The existing norms will continue to be available for you to use, and the norm selections on existing projects will not change.
What is changing?
The main change is to the look and feel of the assessment. The user interface is more intuitive, and easier to navigate. The instructions have been simplified and the candidate receives contextual hints and tips to help them complete the questionnaire.
The items of the assessment are identical, and the way the MQ scores will not change. As the response mechanism is very similar between the old and the redesigned MQ, we do not expect different response behaviour. We will conduct a full equivalence study once date becomes available and based on our experience from OPQ Reimagined we confidently expect that there will be no equivalence difficulties. This means that you can directly compare scores from the old MQ with scores from the redesigned MQ.
The improvements for the candidate will be a more efficient and more modern assessment experience.
The new norms will be available for you to select on both new and existing projects.
When will the transition happen?
The new version of MQ will be released automatically to all TalentCentral clients in the monthly maintenance release on 14th February. There is no action required to start using the new version of the MQ.
The new norms will be released at the same time.
Does anything change to the reports and norms linked to the MQ?
No, all standard and custom MQ reports and norms that are currently available for the MQ remain enabled for the new version.
What happens to candidates who started the MQ before the release and return to finish after the release?
The functionality to log out and back in at a later point in time to finish the assessment remains in place. Candidates who log out before the layout change and log back in after the layout change will continue to use the old layout. Any candidate starting their assessment for the first time after the layout change will see the new look and feel.
Â
Please be aware – if a candidate starts their assessment before the layout change, and their assessment is then reset after the layout change, when they log back in to TalentCentral, they will re-start their assessment with the new version of the MQ.
Is Response Reuse functionality enabled?
The response Reuse (RR) functionality will continue to work for the candidates as it works today.
Will Assessment Profiles work?
Yes, AP (Assessment profiles) will continue to work with the MQ.
Is there more information available on the new norms?
Yes, for more information on the new norms, please refer to the Norms Release Note attached to this article. Attachment (Name):
